LPL Financial and UBS Wealth Management each announced significant advisor additions this week, collectively bringing more than $2.7 billion in client assets onto their platforms. The moves underscore ongoing consolidation and competition for top talent across the independent and wirehouse channels.

Spectrum Wealth Strategies, a Dallas-based practice with offices in Waco, Texas, and Wilmington, North Carolina, has joined LPL Financial's broker-dealer and registered investment advisor platform. The team previously operated under MassMutual, where it managed approximately $1.5 billion in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets, according to a Tuesday announcement.

The practice is led by eight financial advisors: Jonathan Bomar, Randy Black, Truman Blocker, Landon Vaughan, Weston Poulos, Billy Geiler, Jeff Cummins, and Jaime Galvan. Associate advisors Stephen Luna and Matthew Galvan also join the firm. Blocker, Cummins, and Galvan each bring more than two decades of industry experience; Black has nearly 20 years, and Bomar recently crossed the ten-year mark.

Spectrum serves high-net-worth individuals and families, focusing on long-term financial planning through a collaborative model. The team cited LPL's independence, research capabilities, and back-office infrastructure as key reasons for the move. "The move to LPL allows us greater independence and access to more robust solutions for our clients," Bomar said in a statement. The addition follows LPL's recent recruitment of a $2 billion team from PNC Private Bank, as reported in LPL Financial Recruits $2B Team from PNC Private Bank.

Separately, UBS Wealth Management announced that financial advisor Adam Conish has joined its Philadelphia office, bringing approximately $1.2 billion in assets under management. Conish spent the past 20 years at Glenmede, a Philadelphia-based wealth and investment management firm, where he served as director of Endowment & Foundation Management and co-founded the firm's outsourced chief investment officer program. He was also a member of Glenmede's senior leadership and previously held roles at Schlarbaum Capital Management and Van der Moolen Options.

Conish joins the UBS Mid-Atlantic Market, led by Market Executive Brendan Graham, and reports to Patricia Cashin, senior market director for the Greater Philadelphia area. Cashin described the hire as a targeted push into the institutional and nonprofit space, noting Conish's expertise in advising foundations, endowments, and nonprofit organizations. Graham emphasized UBS's regional ambitions, calling the platform "built on cutting edge resources and productive advisors."

The moves come amid a broader trend of advisor mobility, with platforms like LPL and UBS competing for experienced teams. A recent report by Dispatch highlighted a 16.2% rise in advisor transitions, as noted in Dispatch Launches Advisor Transitions Platform. Meanwhile, UBS's focus on institutional clients aligns with findings from its own survey that 60% of family offices plan to reshuffle portfolios, detailed in UBS Survey: 60% of Family Offices to Reshuffle Portfolios.

Both additions reflect the ongoing shift toward independence and specialized expertise in wealth management. LPL continues to attract large teams seeking greater autonomy, while UBS targets advisors with niche institutional experience to expand its footprint in key markets.
