Two wealthtech platforms bolster C-suites with executives experienced in AI platform scaling and institutional private markets investing.

Advisor360, the all-in-one wealth management technology platform, and Willow Wealth, the retail private markets platform formerly known as Yieldstreet, have each appointed new C-suite executives. The moves come as the advisory industry accelerates adoption of artificial intelligence and expands access to alternative investments.

Advisor360 named Milind Mehere as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately. Mehere co-founded Yodle, an advertising technology firm for small businesses, scaling it to over $200 million in annual revenue and more than 1,400 employees before selling it to Web.com in 2016 for $342 million. He later founded YieldStreet, growing it to over 500,000 members and more than $5 billion in invested assets. Most recently, he founded AutonomyFinance.ai, an AI-native platform that builds an intelligence layer for financial advisors using client data and agentic AI.

Mehere succeeds Mike Fanning, who came out of retirement in 2024 to guide Advisor360 through a strategic transition. Fanning will remain as a strategic advisor. The board, which includes William D. Green, former chairman and CEO of Accenture, and Bob Davis, managing partner of Highland Capital Partners, selected Mehere after what it described as an exhaustive search. Mehere had served on Advisor360's board for the past two years, giving him insight into the intensifying AI competition among enterprise wealthtech platforms.

“Advisor360 has built what most companies are still trying to assemble: scaled enterprise software, a connected data model, deep advisor workflows, and a profitable business serving nearly 2 million households and 10,000 advisors,” Mehere said in a statement. “We're at an inflection point for how AI reshapes advice, advisory productivity, and firm growth.”

Willow Wealth, which rebranded from Yieldstreet in November 2024 following negative headlines about investor losses, appointed Tom Williams as chief investment officer. Williams brings over two decades of institutional investment experience, most recently from Morgan Stanley's Outsourced Chief Investment Office. He previously held senior roles at Man Group and Pine Grove Asset Management, where he served as both CIO and president of a multi-strategy fund of funds. He and a co-owner completed a management buyout of Pine Grove before selling the business to Man Group.

Willow Wealth has been repositioning itself from a yield-deal marketplace into a broader private markets platform. The company recently expanded its roster of institutional investment partners to include Carlyle Group, Goldman Sachs, and StepStone Group, and raised more than $77 million in its most recent funding round. Williams will focus on portfolio construction methodology, manager evaluation, and risk management as the platform scales, serving more than 500,000 members.

“Tom brings portfolio construction, manager selection, and risk discipline honed over two decades of institutional investing,” said Willow Wealth CEO Michael Caplan in the announcement. “His track record of managing institutional-quality portfolios for sophisticated investors, combined with his experience as both an investor and a business builder, made him the clear choice to lead our investment strategy.”

The appointments reflect broader trends in wealth management technology. As Salesforce deploys agentic AI suites and AI-driven M&A analysis widens gaps between scaled platforms and independent RIAs, firms are increasingly seeking leaders with deep tech and institutional investing backgrounds. Mehere's experience building AI-native platforms for advisors and Williams's institutional pedigree underscore the industry's dual focus on productivity enhancement and alternative asset access.

During its time as Yieldstreet, the firm had tapped Citi veteran Ted Yarbrough as CIO in 2023. As of Friday, Yarbrough's LinkedIn profile showed him as both president and CIO at Willow Wealth, suggesting a transition period as Williams assumes the CIO role.
