Baird has recruited a three-advisor team from Goelzer Investment Management to its wealth management office in Indianapolis, adding roughly $1 billion in client assets. The group, operating as HWB Partners, includes Don Hutchinson, Dean Weseli and Jeff Borgert, all of whom hold director-level titles at Baird. Their practice at Goelzer encompassed wealth management, institutional consulting and sports-focused advisory services.

Hutchinson brings more than three decades of industry experience. He previously served as chief growth officer at Goelzer and held roles at JPMorgan and Merrill Lynch. Weseli has over 20 years in the field, including a stint as a director of G•PRO Sports and as a senior wealth advisor at Goelzer. He is a registered player financial advisor with the NFL Players Association. Borgert, with nearly 30 years of experience, worked as an institutional senior consultant at Goelzer.

Jim Willbrand, branch manager at Baird, said in a statement that the trio “have built a collaborative practice grounded in long-term client relationships, strong investment capabilities and specialized advisory services.” Baird reported more than $560 billion in client assets as of Dec. 31. The move follows other recent advisor transitions in the region, such as Wealthspire opening an Indianapolis office with a $1.2B boutique.

In a separate transition, Fair Oaks Wealth Management has moved to the independent channel of Ameriprise Financial from Edward Jones in York, Pa. Led by financial advisor Bob Halbert, the practice brought more than $140 million in client assets to Ameriprise. The team also includes financial planning specialist Deborah Purpora and office manager and marketing coordinator Bonnie Dietz.

Halbert said the move was driven by a desire to build a more defined identity for the practice. “With the transition to Ameriprise, we’re able to truly build a distinctive personal brand and client experience that reflects who we are and how we serve,” he said. The practice is supported locally by Ameriprise franchise field vice president Matthew Roesser and regional vice president Tom North. Ameriprise said it has attracted approximately 1,700 experienced advisors over the past five years. This comes amid ongoing recruiting dynamics, as seen in a judge halting forensic searches of advisors' devices in an Ameriprise-LPL recruiting dispute.

Prime Capital Financial has added Shane Miller as a partner and managing director at its Fort Worth, Texas, office. Miller brings more than a decade of experience in comprehensive financial planning, with a focus on wealth management, asset protection, insurance planning and long-term financial strategy. He most recently served as a partner at WPWealth, where he spent over 10 years in client-facing advisory roles.

Glenn Spencer, chief executive officer of Prime Capital Financial, said Miller’s hire reflects the firm’s focus on “combining wealth and tax advisory services,” adding that having an experienced advisor embedded within its tax team would strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver coordinated guidance. The addition is intended to bolster Prime Capital Financial’s tax-focused planning capabilities in Texas.
