Composition Wealth, a Los Angeles-based registered investment advisor with more than $12 billion in client assets, has filled two senior roles as part of a push to institutionalize its operations and support a growing advisor force. Gabrielle Glemann will serve as general counsel and chief compliance officer, while Joe Salcido takes on the newly created position of head of advisors. Both bring roughly two decades of experience in the financial services industry.
The appointments come as the firm, which employs 125 people across nine U.S. markets, continues an aggressive acquisition streak. Earlier this year, Composition Wealth completed a merger with Edgewater Wealth Management of Tacoma, Washington, adding about $900 million in assets and an eight-advisor team formerly with Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group. That deal followed a series of other integrations that have helped the RIA cross the $10 billion threshold.
CEO Nate Angelo said the new hires reflect the firm's commitment to being a "true business partner" for advisors focused on high-net-worth clients. In a statement, he noted that the investment in executive talent reinforces the firm's growth strategy. Glemann and Salcido are expected to play key roles in governance, risk management, and advisor development as Composition Wealth expands its footprint.
Glemann joins from Cercano Management, a Seattle-based SEC-registered investment adviser, where she served as general counsel and partner. Her earlier career includes a stint at BlackRock as director of legal and compliance, supporting the firm's global alternatives platform across hedge funds, private equity, direct investments, and co-investments. She also practiced law at Stoel Rives LLP and Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, giving her a broad background in regulatory matters for investment advisers and private fund managers.
Salcido arrives from Edelman Financial Engines, where he spent nearly a decade, most recently as regional director of wealth planning overseeing the Southeast division. In a prior role as director of sales, he helped guide the organization through two major mergers while scaling the sales team. He began his career at Vanguard, holding progressively senior positions in sales, trading, and operations over more than a decade.
The hires underscore a broader trend in the RIA industry, where firms scaling toward and beyond $10 billion in assets are increasingly formalizing their legal and compliance functions with dedicated leadership. At that size, RIAs face heightened SEC scrutiny and more complex governance demands as they integrate acquired teams and enter new markets. Composition Wealth's move mirrors similar steps by other large independents, such as Beacon Pointe adding executives from BlackRock and Vanguard and Choreo appointing a chief people and transformation officer.
Angelo said both executives bring perspectives that will help the firm execute its next phase of strategic plans. Glemann will partner with executive leadership on governance, risk management, and growth initiatives, while Salcido's mandate centers on enabling organic growth through coaching and practice management support for Composition's advisor base. The firm, founded in 2007 as Miracle Mile Advisors, rebranded in early 2025 and has since expanded to team locations in Baltimore/Washington, D.C., Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle.
Composition Wealth is backed by a minority investment from private equity firm Corsair Capital. The firm's rapid expansion and leadership additions come amid a wave of consolidation in the RIA space, with several firms crossing key asset thresholds. As the industry matures, the ability to attract and retain top talent in compliance and advisor support roles is becoming a competitive differentiator.
