The wealth management industry saw another wave of advisor movement this week, with three firms announcing significant hires. Raymond James, &Partners, and Janney Montgomery Scott collectively added advisors managing more than $1.3 billion in client assets, underscoring the competitive landscape for talent.
Raymond James lands Florida duo from Truist
Lance Longwater and Christopher “Ryan” Haffey have joined Raymond James & Associates, the firm’s employee broker-dealer channel, as managing directors. The pair previously operated at Truist Investment Services, where they managed approximately $700 million in client assets. They are joined by senior registered client service associate Traci Havens, and the team will operate as the Longwater Haffey Group of Raymond James.
Longwater brings more than 26 years of industry experience, including 14 at Truist. Haffey’s registration record dates back to 2000. The team has been recognized on Forbes' best-in-state wealth teams list this year. In a statement, Longwater cited Raymond James’ AI-forward technology platform and planning-centric approach as key draws.
&Partners adds Texas family practice
Riseling Wealth Management, based in Dumas, Texas, has joined &Partners with $357 million in prehire assets under management. The practice is led by Larry Riseling and his son Reid Riseling, both partners and wealth advisors. Another son, Craig Riseling, serves as a wealth management associate, supported by senior client service associate Denise Meschke and client service associate Brooke Brown. The team previously affiliated with Edward Jones, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.
The practice specializes in investment management and retirement income planning for farm and ranch families, energy workers, retirees, and multigenerational families. This marks the 132nd practice to join &Partners and the fifth in October. Over the past two months, nine practices with approximately $7.4 billion in prehire assets have joined the firm. At the end of the third quarter, &Partners reported $65 billion in total assets.
Janney recruits Miami advisor
Christopher Manimbo has joined Janney Montgomery Scott in Miami as senior vice president/wealth management, bringing more than $250 million in client assets. He is accompanied by senior registered private client associate Thomas Fagan. The team will also have a presence in Janney’s Fairfield, Connecticut office. Manimbo has nearly 20 years of experience, beginning as an investment banking analyst before moving to Edward Jones.
Manimbo said Janney offers the flexibility and personalized support to maintain his client-focused approach, backed by the firm’s resources. These moves follow a trend of advisors seeking platforms that combine technology, support, and independence. The activity reflects a broader pattern of advisors switching firms to access better technology and resources, as seen in a Georgia firm's breakaway and M&A leadership changes. With continued consolidation and competition, firms are aggressively courting top producers.
